Executive Director
Kate Post, Executive Director
As
one of the original creators of the Stockton Asparagus Festival 21
years ago, now its first Executive Director, Kate Post is by no
means a newcomer to the special event business. She was awarded the 2004 Business Award by the Greater Stockton Chamber of
Commerce Business Manager of the Year, recognizing her success,
staying power and contribution to her profession and the greater
Stockton community.
With an extensive background in public relations, Post has served
in high profile positions since the mid-1970's working for The Grupe
Company, A.G. Spanos Companies, as Executive Director of the
Stockton San Joaquin Convention and Visitors Bureau, and co-founder
Vice President of GAMUT Promotions and Advertising., the event
planning firm that created and coordinated many festivals in
California, including the Dry Bean Festival.
Under the leadership of Executive Director, Kate Post, the Festival
Board of Directors, 60 committees, and 5500 volunteers, this huge
organization runs efficiently to produce the largest charitable
special event in San Joaquin County. This award winning festival has
donated over $3.6 million to date to over 100 charities that
volunteer each year at the festival. We think you'll find her
"spear-it" contagious!
