Joey Chestnut made good on his promise to regain the World Deep-Fried Asparagus Eating Championship title at the 25th Annual Stockton Asparagus Festival. The #1-ranked Chestnut ate 8 lbs 7 oz of the deep-fried asparagus spears to win his fifth asparagus title in six years.

Coming in second place was surging MLE rookie Ben Monson from Twin Peaks, CA. Monson ate 6 lbs 7 oz, beating defending Champ Pat Bertoletti by 7 oz.

Other notable scores had Badlands Booker at 4 lbs, Crazy Legs Conti at 3 lbs and Ryan "Big Red" McKillop at 1.5 lbs.

For their performances, Chestnut, Monson and Bertoletti took home $1,500, $750 and $500, respectively.
